McGrath Realty has been brokering property in the Hudson Valley since 1962. The commercial division is deliberately small: the broker you speak to first is the one who runs your assignment.
Ryan runs McGrath Realty, the third generation of his family to do so since the firm opened in 1962. A native of Dutchess County with a finance degree from Marist College, he leads the management side of the business alongside the brokerage, where he oversees more than 1,000 condominium, multifamily and commercial units.
Mike has nearly 35 years in the Hudson Valley market, concentrated on industrial and warehouse sales, and covers office, retail and development property alongside it. He grew up here and has worked with some of the region's most active development companies, which is where the relationships with local investors come from. He advises developers, property owners and municipalities across Dutchess, Westchester, Putnam and Orange counties on market analysis, site selection, financing and construction.
Brian is the firm's principal broker, which makes him the broker of record behind every listing on this site. He has 39 years in Hudson Valley real estate across land, residential and commercial work, and has managed land and commercial sales volume of more than $100 million. Born and raised in Katonah, he takes the larger land and commercial assignments himself, including the estate-scale acreage and redevelopment sites in Bedford, Patterson and Amenia currently on the board, and raises money for organizations working with children with cancer.
Ryan works commercial leasing and land across Dutchess and Putnam, from the Route 52 corridor in Fishkill out to the development parcels in Pleasant Valley and Poughkeepsie.
Brendan represents owners, investors and tenants in the sale and leasing of commercial property across Dutchess, Ulster, Orange, Putnam and Westchester counties. He also manages the firm's affiliate commercial appraisal practice, McGrath & Company, and brings that valuation perspective to every pricing and marketing decision. He builds the firm's property research systems: the parcel and market databases behind the valuation work, the mapping, and this website.
Mark has more than 20 years in real estate investment, as a principal at Fitzwilliam Companies and before that with New York City firms working on mixed-use, self-storage and condominium development. He structures complex deals and knows the construction and zoning side of them, holds real estate finance degrees from NYU and the University of Wisconsin-Madison and the CRRP designation from ICSC, and sits on the Planning Board in Pawling, where he lives.
Lucas works on commercial sales and leasing across the valley, and on the buyer and tenant side of it: finding the building or the space, and then the numbers that decide whether it works.
Donald McGrath Sr. opened the firm in 1962 as a one-person office in Katonah, and it has been owned and run by the same family since. Brian McGrath is the principal broker and Ryan McGrath, the third generation, is president. Over six decades it has marketed everything from a single village storefront to 50-lot subdivisions, 500-unit townhouse communities and 500,000 square foot redevelopment sites.
Two affiliates sit alongside the brokerage. McGrath Management runs more than 60 properties in the valley, which is where our operating numbers come from rather than from a national survey. McGrath & Company handles appraisal, kept separate from brokerage as the licensing requires.
The commercial division covers Dutchess, Orange, Ulster, Putnam, Westchester and Columbia counties, which is close enough to say we work where we live.
Most of that work is land, which is why the division holds memberships on economic development committees across New York and Connecticut and spends as much time on zoning, water and sewer planning and the SEQR process as on the sale itself. Knowing how a parcel gets approved is usually what decides what it is worth.
